All kinds of pasta have always been the leading role of countrymen tables. With the accelerated pace of life, more and more consumers choose to buy frozen pastry products to reduce production costs. With the enhancement of warehousing and transportation efficiency, the cold chain technology has gradually improved, and the variety of pastry products has also become increasingly rich. From the perspective of consumption of different ages, "post-80s" consumers prefer to buy Mantou/Steamed rolls, cakes, steamed stuffed buns and other products, while "post-90s" consumers prefer to buy dumplings/Wonton, rice dumpling/Yuanxiao (Filled round balls made of glutinous rice-flour for Lantern Festival), noodles and other products. From the perspective of different gender consumers' consumption preferences, female consumers account for a higher proportion of pastry consumers than male consumers, but male users have shown a growth trend, increasing by 3 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Male consumers prefer dumplings, steamed buns and other pasta with filling, and female consumers buy noodles, Mantou, Steamed rolls more than male consumers.
From the perspective of regional consumption, Guangdong, Beijing, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and other provinces accounted for a relatively high turnover of pastry products, while Qinghai, Xinjiang, Anhui, Ningxia, Xizang and other provinces saw a relatively high growth in the turnover of pastry products. In addition, male consumers in Xizang, Jiangxi, Shanghai, Henan, Jiangsu and other provinces accounted for a relatively high turnover of pastry products.
For many consumers, convenient consumption, easy stocking, and saving time and energy on cooking or dining out are the main reasons for purchasing frozen noodles. Therefore, relevant enterprises need to study changes in consumer dining habits, grasp consumer needs, and continuously develop new categories of noodles while ensuring food safety, focusing on product appearance, new flavors, and ceremonial sense.
